Red Dead Redemption 2 on GTX 1080ti || GTX 1080 ti in RDR 2
Hello everyone! In this article, I am going to test the performance of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the GTX 1080 ti 11 GB model. This card was released back in 2017 and at that time it was the only beast available because 11 GBs of VRAM was a very huge amount at that time. At this time when we are testing Red Dead Redemption 2 on GTX 1080ti this GPU is already 4 years so, let's find out how well does Red Dead Redemption 2 perform on GTX 1080ti.
We are going to test Red Dead Redemption 2 on GTX 1080ti at
- 1080 HUB settings
- 1440p HUB settings
My system specifications are as follow:
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB GDDR5X
RAM - 3236 DDR4 3200MHz (4x8GB CL14)
OS - Windows 10 Pro
SSD I-WD Blue SN550 ITE
HDD I-WD Red 2TB 7200rpm
HDD2-Seagate Exos 12TB
Motherboard- MSI MAU X570 TOMAHAWK WIFE ☐FSU-Corsair RM750i 80+ gold
At 1080p HUB settings:
FPS Count
In less intensive areas
95-102 FPS
Average
92 FPS
1% low
71 FPS
In intensive areas of the game
85-90 FPS
On counting the FPS at 1080p HUB settings while testing Red Dead Redemption 2 on GTX 1080ti the results were awesome as it provided a high refresh rate experience. The game was buttery smooth and there were no stutters or frame drops at all. The game looked awesome and the experience was very much enjoyable in less intensive areas of the game while a few frames dropped in intensive areas of the game, but the overall experience of the game stayed the same.
In less intense areas of the game, the number of FPS was varying from 95-102 and there were no stutters while in the intensive areas of the game the FPS dropped a little bit too and stayed mostly between 85-90 and the game experience was similar, smooth and much enjoyable. Red Dead Redemption 2 did very well at 1080p on GTX 1080p keeping in mind that the GPU is already 4 years older at this time.
At 1440p HUB settings:
FPS Count
Less intensive areas
68-73
Average FPS
68
1% low
52
The last time when I tested Red Dead Redemption 2 on GTX 1080ti at 1440p the FPS stayed almost 60 plus most of the time. Now on testing the Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1440p I was expecting the FPS to stay hardly above the 60 but I am stunned that the FPS stayed around 70 and 70+ plus most of the time. The experience of the game is very much enjoyable and the game looks very sharp and beautiful in these settings.
The FPS stayed around 68-73 most of the time and a few points the number of FPS dropped to higher fifties not affecting the experience of the game. The GPU utilization at this point has reached 6 GB of VRAM that is normal as we are having 11 GB of VRAM.
