GTX 1660 in Call of Duty Vanguard At 1080p- All settings | Can GTX 1660 play COD Vanguard at 1080p?
Intro
Hello guys Hassan here and welcome back to another video this one my friends I’m going to be testing the Geforce GTX 1060 Gigabyte in Call of Duty Vanguard beta this one is the Gaming X version from MSI. It comes already overclocked out of the box, I pushed it a little bit further because well I usually do it with 1060. I don't know why I started this way like four years ago and I still do it I overclock it just a little bit. You know as usual we're using the Ryzen 9 5900x PC with 32 gigabytes of RAM to avoid any CPU or ram bottlenecks we're here to test the GPU after all, but if you pair this card with something like a Ryzen 5 2600 um even like a 1600 overclocked and 16 Gigabytes of ram, it should be enough to not bottleneck it.
1080p Low
So let's get right into it, shall we? First of all, let's go through the settings real quick. I’m playing using the lowest settings preset here, but I changed the texture resolution to low instead of very low everything else is set to the lowest here but Anti-Aliasing can't be turned off, unfortunately. We are going to use SMAA 82x here, I don't like the implementation it looks super blurry even here in the menu everything is super blurry for some reason. They should allow us to um drop that setting or maybe include more Anti-Aliasing options you know or DLSS that would be great. Well, it doesn't work with the 1060 FSR please Call of Duty FSR that would make things sharper.
Anyway let's get on with it, here we go, I’m liking the FPS let's start counting them I mean it's it seems like it is a little bit slower than the RX 570, so, yeah 1060 full fell a little bit behind here. There we go I like this new loadout that I have here with this new gun, it's so silent I love it, I love the sound of it. It's dropping by quite a bit their guys did you see that 40 something FPS what the hell 41 FPS in the one percent lows that's not good at all. 1060 can't play it at 60 plus FPS all of the time at 1080p low settings like what the hell maybe it's just this area that is super broken, I don't know it's yeah it's pretty intensive I think with all of the explosions as well. Maybe, that was just a one-off you know most of the time it might be well above 60 frames.

Oh, so many I'd probably stay away from higher settings, to be honest in this one VRAM utilization is also under control. It's at 3.2 Gigs so even if you have the three Gigabyte model of this card you should be fine, somewhat, you know you'll go over the VRAM limits just by a little bit. But it's going to be fine overall you know it's not going to stutter too much. At least I haven't seen stirring issues whenever you're out of VRAM in this game.
I think you should stick to these settings if you're running a 1060 3 Gig. I'd love to have seen around 45 maybe 60 frames per second on Ultra and 60 plus all of the time on low or even medium but well it's just not happening here in this new Call of Duty title. I’m just loving this weapon guys what the hell it's still a Beta, of course, you always got to remember that in these Vanguard articles that I’m writing today, it is not optimized or fully optimized.
1080p Medium
I just restarted the game we're playing now at the medium settings preset, and I changed a couple of more things here because they were still at very low and stuff like that the presets don't seem to be finished yet. I think he looks at all of that noise in the weapon you know what first of all I’m going to try to get rid of it. I think you can do it by setting this slider to the maximum no it doesn't do anything look at that maybe you need to set the SMAA to filmic SMAA. Okay, that's a little bit better all right so would you play like this guys we lost like 5 FPS I think anyway let's start counting our FPS I died already by the way, in this new Call of Duty title and the fact that they don't allow us to just disable it completely annoys me.

Your FPS would go higher so you could see like 60 plus FPS at medium settings. That would be good I’m not sure if they will put that in the game but it would be a very welcomed edition, I think and it would probably save the experience for a lot of people. It's still an enjoyable experience, I’m still in the first place somehow I guess the lobbies today are a bit easier. I can have fun like this.
1080p High Settings
Here we go high settings now at the uh 1080p resolution back to the first map 20 v 20 a lot of these people holy crap. All right let's uh start counting our frames doing an okay job handling all of these people at once I think that's also pretty intensive here in this game from what I’ve seen um at least it was super intensive on lower-end cards like the GT 1030. We're fine we're doing this already got killed freaking campers man ladies lost no we got to win like a game. please I’m playing all right today, oh no, they introduced the lens flares again no are they intensive for 1060 as well let me check 63, 73, 16, 17 all right yeah seems like the lens flares are also intensive for the GTX 1060.

1080p Ultra Settings
Finally ultra settings everything is maxed out here, so this is the most intensive map of the Beta. We haven't played here yet with 1060 in that direction we had the 70s which makes me believe that this is not going to be a very good experience probably going to drop into the 30s in explosions at least. I can't do anything this is the thing with Call of Duty it's always been like that for me at least, in one game I will kill 20 or 30 people the other game I can't even get a single kill and I die like 30 times. I think I died like 15 times already I’m not even exaggerating that they're everywhere also I don't think we're seeing those weird issues that we saw with the RX 570 in this map like the lighting was kind of weird everywhere so they might want to take a look at that.
